Monday April 25th, 2023 – Royston Golf Club.

Following the Schools Scratch Championships in March, the Mid-Handicap Championship is a chance for the higher handicap players to shine.  A field of thirty players with handicaps between 12.5 and 32.4 played Royston Golf Course for the opportunity to qualify for the Regional Final.

The Regional Final is an inter-county Championship called the ‘George McPartlin Trophy’ which, in 2023, is being held at Dunstable Downs Golf Club on Sunday September 17th. The players who qualify to represent the Hertfordshire team are the top six boys and three girls with the required HI criteria for the finals.

The Winner of the 2023 Mid-Handicap Championship is Charlie Davies (19.6) from Chancellors’ School returning a fantastic score of 46 stableford points, (photo to follow).

The runners up in 2nd and 3rd places were Tanus Van Molendorff (20.3) from St. Mary’s School returning 42 stableford points and Lilly Newton (26.2) from Bishop’s Stortford College with 41 stableford points.

Huge thanks to the management, the Food & Beverage team, the green keepers and of course the club members, for allowing us the use of their course.
