Girls Summer Series 2024
Redbourn Golf Club hosted the second tournament of the County Girls Summer Series, Sunday 23rd June.
Junior Organiser Winston Childs and the Redbourn staff were ever so welcoming and the weather was equally friendly.
Some fabulous golf was played by the girls and in the 0-15 handicap section, Lily Hertz of Essendon ran out winner with an excellent 36 points.
The same score was enough to secure victory for Maisie Palombo of Bishop’s Stortford in the 16+ handicap category.
The third tournament will take place at Mid Herts on Sunday 21st July, where we hope to see another large turnout.
Jennie Lewis Puttick – Girls County Manager
Hi and welcome to the newly created Girls Summer Series.
This series of get togethers has been organised to help all girls meet and play a round of golf in the company of other girls.
We hope these events will especially help girls who are often the only girl at a club.
You simply have to be a Home member of a Hertfordshire club, with a Handicap Index below 32.4 and complete the form below and we will be waiting to greet you.
We’ll pair you up with existing friends, or new girls, for a round of golf at a cost of just £10 per player per event, payable in the pro shop before starting.
Unless completed in the past 3 years, competitors’ parents are required to complete an online Parent Consent Form prior to the event.

Last Year's Event
Last year we had a small select group of seven girls today at Verulam GC, Angi, Lauren, Eve, Amelie, Harriet, Amelia and Lucy., and were so lucky with the weather. The greens were a great test for all of the players. Tony and I roamed around in the buggy making sure everyone crossed the road safely and also watching some super golf shots.
The scoring was very impressive and the gross winner was Anqi with 91 and Amelie was the winner of the Stableford competition with 36 points. Special mention to Harriet who had 35 points today. I think everyone enjoyed themselves even if they found the course challenging.
Thanks to Tony for joining me as my lovely assistant, Verulam for their hospitality on and off the course and to your parents for getting you there.
Look forward to seeing you at this years event soon.
All the best
Jennie
