Report from Mens Senior Team Captain Simon Kay;
The County Seniors final friendly, before the League season starts, was at home to Suffolk at West Herts GC. We were made very welcome by West Herts and the course played well with good feedback from the Suffolk team.
The match saw us introduce some more 55 year olds. Jason Kirby played his first game against Surrey and this time debuts were made by Paddy Barnham and Garry Cooper.
The match was 10 aside and unfortunately we didn’t get off to the best start with Herts winning only one of our first four games, through Garry Cooper. Nick Davis and Dominic Ronan then halved both their matches, Nick coming back from 5 down! Jason Court and Scott Bambridge won their matches to get the match back on an even keel. With 2 games remaining David Scammel won the penultimate match but the match ended up as a draw (5-5).
Our next game is at the end of May in the League against Middlesex at home.
Thanks as always to everyone who played or supported the team.
