Hertfordshire’s Boys and Girls battled wet conditions at Wensum Valley, which saw the East Region Schools Finals reduced to 18 holes from the planned 36.

Having progressed from the Herts Schools Rosebowl at Chesfield Downs, four each of our boys and girls competed, to progress to the Schools National Finals in mid June at Stanmore Golf Club.

Successful in progressing to those Nationals was Euan Hardie of Bishop’s Stortford and Marcus Karim of East Herts.

Not only did Marcus progress, he was also the winner of the boys lowest nett on the day, a fantastic achievement for the talented 10 year old, who received a special mention  for his accomplishment against much older peers.

In the girls, Ruby Esterbrook qualified for the National Finals. In her final year of schools competitions Ruby has been a fantastic long standing role model for Herts girls county golf and this was reward for her constant improvement.

We wish Ruby, Euan and Marcus well at National Finals, where places are available to be selected for the National Schools Team’s International matches later this year.
