Why do Hertfordshire Golf need volunteers? Volunteers are vital to safeguard the future of our great game. Hertfordshire Golf is no different to any other golfing body and heavily relies on its volunteer network in order to successfully deliver its core activities: championships, leagues, county teams and course rating.
Every year Hertfordshire Golf administers over 30 championship events for all abilities and age levels across the county. Vital to this are the support staff who help run these events. Starters, score recorders and on-course referees, for those with a keen interest in the Rules of Golf, are always required.
Hertfordshire Golf organises a total of nine county teams playing against other counties in fixtures across the season, from Junior Boys and Girls teams up to Men’s and Ladies’ Seniors teams. Each of these requires a designated team manager to facilitate the organisation of training sessions and the playing of inter-county matches and representative events. Junior golf, in particular, and some of the other initiatives we organise, require more adult supervision and regularly need the infusion of new blood.
How can I get involved? If you are interested in volunteering with Hertfordshire Golf we would be delighted to hear from you. Please get in touch with the County Secretary.
