Women's Seniors taste defeat in Cambs

Report from Women's Seniors Manager Lindsay Murray Gray;

Friday 19th May saw the Women's Seniors Team get our campaign to defend the East Region title underaway at The Links GC, Newmarket.  We teed off in what can only be described as mizzle which persisted for the first 1.5 hours and then the sun had a reasonable attempt at shining for at least some of the time.  For those who have not played there, rather interestingly the course is located within the gallops at Newmarket.  There were lots of horse boxes parked nearby so we were keeping our fingers crossed that we might be treated to some additional entertainment on our way round.  Sadly we were disappointed, neither a clip, a clop or a thunderous hoof was heard.

Back to the golf, local knowledge was very much an advantage as placement of your ball off the tee was key however it appears that we were predominantly undone by the slow greens.  Tales of 3 putts were very definitely heard in the bar afterwards...  

The final score was 4-2 to Cambs & Hunts - well done to Sandra Moses & Michelle Gardner who won their matches.
