THE WINNING TEAM FROM THE MELBOURNE CLUB/BERKHAMSTED, PICTURED WITH PAST PRESIDENT HUGH WIKNER
Report by event organiser Judy Armitt;
With good golfing weather and a wonderful welcome from the management, staff and ladies from Old Fold Manor, 80 ladies from 13 different Hertfordshire clubs took part in the Women's Spring Meeting on Monday 15th May, which took the form of the now traditional team format with best 2 scores from 4 counting.
The club generously provided fruit and other provisions for the players to take onto the course and the catering staff took great care of the 'workers' on the day as well as providing a lovely buffet for us all.
Our Past President, Rev Hugh Wikner, presented the prizes and with his England Golf Referee hat on, challenged us all to some obscure but interesting rules questions.
The winners, from The Melbourne Club and Berkhamsted with 82 points were May Cheung, Xi Zhiang Fang Mei Leu and Jackie Wai - pictured with Hugh Wikner.
The runners up with 78 points from Mill Green were Debbie Barnes, Genny Hill, Debbie McLoughlin and Anne Westcough and in third place with 76 points from Hadley Wood were Simmi Ciccone, Anne Kapoor, Angela Wood and Lak Perera.
Our traditional ball sweep also raised a wonderful £190.00 for The Golf Foundation charity.
Feedback from the players indicated a lovely day was had by all and our warmest thanks to everyone at Old Fold Manor.
