PGA PROFESSIONAL BARNEY PUTTICK OF MID HERTS - INAUGURATED AS AN HONORARY MEMBER OF HERTFORDSHIRE GOLF AT THE RECENT ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The 5th annual Hertfordshire Golf Limited Annual General Meeting took place yesterday (Mon 6 Mar) at Mid Herts Golf Club, with 51 attendees representing a total of 22 affiliated clubs (excluding HG Directors).
The Presidency of the County changed hands at the meeting after Anne Pyke's two-year term came to an end and was succeeded in the position by Robin Colbourne of Moor Park. Robin is a former President of the now defunct Men's Union and was also the first Chair of the new merged body from 2018 to 2020.
In terms of Directors, Chair Bobby Kendall of Moor Park and Director without Portfolio Simon Shepherd of Hadley Wood were re-elected to the Board, while Jane Walter of Harpenden Common retired after a five year stint as Director of Club Services. Jane was thanked for her considerable efforts over the years and thankfully she is continuing with her work on our Course Rating Team, as well as continuing to be a starter at many of our events. Jane was succeeded in her position by another Jane, Jane Clarke of The Melbourne Club, who is well known to the County through her work as Manager of the Hertfordshire Pearson Trophy competition.
PGA Professional Barney Puttick of Mid Herts was proposed and accepted by the floor as an Honorary Member of Hertfordshire Golf for services to the County over the past 25 years+ as a County coach. Barney made a very amusing and gracious acceptance speech which was warmly received by those who attended.
