Tala Clarke of Knebworth wins National Girls Under 16 Schools Title

English Schools Golf Association (ESGA) Under 16’s Championship

Walsall Golf Club - Monday 19th July 2021

It gives us great pleasure to report that Tala Clarke from Marriott’s School and an active member of Knebworth Golf Club has won the ESGA u16’s Championship held at Walsall Golf Club Staffordshire with a two-round score of 161 (82-79).

According to reports the course was set up to prove a ‘challenge’ for the youngsters with hard and fast greens and difficult to access pin positions, but the reward was a place in the England squad to play an international match against Wales U19s at Rolls of Monmouth on the 29th & 30th August.

Hertfordshire Golf are obviously doing something right as Max Hopkins and George Wright from Leventhorpe School and members of Bishop’s Stortford GC have also been selected for international duty after their performance in the Schools National Championships at Belton Park on the 28th June. Max finishing 2nd with a score of 139 (70 + 69) -3 and George 3rd with a score of 141 (72+ 69) -1.

Our congratulations and thanks to all the players who entered these events and represent Hertfordshire Golf.
